Election Update: First Advance Poll

The first Advance Voting Opportunity for the 2014 Local General Election saw a steady stream of electors exercising their democratic rights on November 5th.

At the 8:00 pm closing of polls for the First Advance Voting day, 259 Electors had registered and voted. To put this number in perspective, in the first advance voting day in the 2011 election there were 241 voters and in the 2008 election there were only 54 voters.

November 5th was also the first time that Northern Rockies electors had the opportunity to vote using an electronic vote tabulator. Many voters noted how easy the new system was to use, and not a single ballot was spoiled during the first voting opportunity.

The next voting opportunity is Wednesday, November 12th from 8:00am to 8:00pm at the Municipal Offices (5319 50th Ave South). General Voting Day is Saturday November 15, 2014 from 8:00am to 8:00pm at the Municipal Offices.
