Local man charged after shooting

40-year old Fort Nelson Resident Bradley Thomson has been charged with Discharging a Firearm with Intent, Careless Use of a Firearm, and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in relation to a shooting that occurred on October 28th, 2014 on the Fort Nelson First Nation Reserve.
Thomson was released on bail November 3rd, 2014 with strict conditions. His next court appearance is scheduled in December 2014.
On October 28, 2014 at 8:30 PM, the Northern Rockies RCMP (Fort Nelson) received a complaint that a 25-year old man had been shot in a residence in the 1000 block of Sikanni Road.
On arrival, officers located three individuals inside the residence and learned that the suspect, a 40 year old Fort Nelson man had fled the scene prior to police arrival. He was taken into custody later without incident and will appear in Provincial Court by the end of the week.
The victim was flown to Edmonton Hospital where he remains in stable condition.
The Northern Rockies RCMP is being assisted by members from the North District Regional General Investigation Section (GIS) and Williams Lake Forensic Identification Section.
The parties involved all knew each other and the public is not at risk.

On November 3, 2014 the Dawson Creek RCMP arrested 23 year old Chance SHAW who had 51 outstanding Canada Wide warrants issued out of Alberta.
These warrants related to property offences such as: Theft and Possession of Stolen Property, Theft of motor Vehicles, Frauds, False Pretense, Uttering Forged Documents, Forgery, breach of release conditions, and physical assaults.
The warrants were issued as a result of numerous charges stemming from various investigations out of Alberta.
Shaw has been remanded into police custody in Dawson Creek and will be transported back to Alberta later this week to answer to these charges.
