LIZ LOGAN TOPPED THE POLL
Liz Logan topped the poll in the Fort Nelson First Nations elections for Band Council held Wednesday, August 13, 2014. She received 222 votes.
Also elected to Council were Roberta Dendys (154), Kathi Dickie (153), Sharleen Wildeman-Gale(130), Samantha Kotchea (130), Vance Parsons (number mode 121), Renée Behn-Loman (120).
The number of valid ballots cast for for band council was 325, with no spoilt or rejected ballots. There are 543 eligible voters in the Fort Nelson First Nation.
The chief is elected from council members by the Band Council.
The results were announced by Election Officer, Sandy McLean, who has been the returning officer for seven years overseeing four general elections and three by elections.
Others who let the name stand included: Benita Behn 91 votes, Harvey Behn 96 votes, Gilbert Capot-Blanc 43 votes, Jesse James Capot-Blanc 55 votes , Vera Gardner-Nicholson 84 votes, Eddie Harrold 39 votes, Trina Harrold-Nicholson 68 votes, Celine Kotchea 94 votes, Violet Markin 57 votes, Roberta Michel 89 votes .
Caleb Behn, Adolphus Capot-Blanc, Harrison Dickie, and Jasmine Netsena all withdrew their names before voting day.
