Mike Irwin was able to complete the Calgary International Marathon even after being diagnosed with bronchiectasis after suffering a ruptured pulmonary artery in the middle lobe of his right lung. “I ran (May 26th) to raise awareness about lung diseases and remember my late father who passed on December 29th last year,” Irwin said. He finished the half marathon 21.1km in 2 hours 34 minutes and 9 seconds. “This is my second half marathon. I ran for the physio benefits on my cardiovascular system.”
