The Aurora Dance had their annual showcase May 12th, 14th, and 15th at the Phoenix Theatre for the competitive and recreational youth to show Fort Nelson the results of their hard work and dedication over the year. The dance program was run this year by Program Coordinator Sarah Davidson, and classes were taught by both Davidson and instructor Tristen Jackman. The competitive division of the Aurora Dance Division travelled to Fort St. John twice in April for festivals and competitions. The Peace River North Arts Festival was April 18th – 21st, and the Standing Ovation Festival was April 27th – 28th. Both competitions fared the dancers well as they were awarded with high standings for their impressive performances. Shown above is the Competitive Senior II Jazz goup (L-R): Owen Unruh, Shelby Gustafson, Sierra Frandsen, Daiten Harrold, Danielle Sharp, Desiree Brown, Jessica Thompson, and Kassandra Duchesne.
