Fort Nelson Biggest Loser a success with close to 300 pounds and over 300 inches lost!

A hard-working, very motivated and inspiring group of 24 women participated in the eight-week Biggest Loser program, held here in Fort Nelson.  Individuals were placed with a partner, where they challenged each other as well as other members from their team, to complete challenging Last-Chance Workouts as well as group challenges including a Snowshoe Challenge and a Pool Challenge.
This amazing group of ladies ate, breathed, and slept clean-eating and fitness for these eight weeks (January-March)…enduring sore muscles and busy schedules but nonetheless gaining new friendships and inspiring each other to gain self-confidence, strength, energy, and a positive and healthy lifestyle.
We would like express our appreciation to Lisa Hogg of Blissfit Yoga for graciously donating her space for us to use for our measurements, fit test, and nutrition seminar.
The Biggest Loser group celebrated their successes in March with a delicious dinner at The One Restaurant.  We would like to take the opportunity to thank David and Farrah for their incredible hospitality and service.  The food was absolutely incredible, and their accommodation was intimate and impressive.  The ceremony was held at The One, where results were announced.  An astonishing 297.4 pounds and 302.75 inches were lost by the group!
Our Top Losers (based on % Body Weight Lost):
1st – Sara Gibson-Bull: -14.83% (-23.5”)
2nd – Melissa Murrin: -12.58% (-20.5”)
3rd – Lisa Maynard: -11.27% (-25.0”)
We would like to congratulate all participants on their success.  This has been an incredible journey for all of us.  Every bead of sweat and every minute of burpees definitely paid off, as the results illuminated what was achieved through their eight-week program!   Thank you so much for your hard work, and for making this such a memorable experience.  Keep on keeping on, and we look forward to seeing you continue your success in the Biggest Loser 2!
Biggest Loser 2 begins in April.  This is a 10-week program, which will also consist of before and after measurements and weekly weigh-ins.  Group and family challenges will take place each week, and the winner will be selected based on points accumulated (not just weight lost).  Cost is $50 to register.  All money will be dispersed for top winners.  For more information and to register, please contact Leah Edmunds, or request to join our Biggest Loser 2 group on Facebook.
