NOV Wilson (National Oilwell Varco) and Total Electronics donated computers to the Fort Nelson Secondary School last week. “We are delighted to help the kids of our local community, and appreciate Total Electronics in partnering with us,” said Sukhi Dhaliwal, Fort Nelson Branch Manager of NOV Wilson (National Oilwell Varco). The computers will be used at Fort Nelson Secondary School for programming in the new Robotics class, and for programming and network set-up in the grade 12 I.C.T. class. “Total Electronics always strives to support the community and we are pleased to partner with NOV Wilson for this,” said Curtis Hawley and Collin Garriott from Total Electronics.
Seen in the photo are Sukhi Dhaliwal, Fort Nelson Branch Manager of NOV Wilson, School District #81 District Vice Principal Patty Burt and Total Electronics staff members Curtis Hawley and Collin Garriott who met last week to celebrate the joint donation to the school district by the two businesses.
When NOV (formerly C.E. Franklin) installed new systems, they decided to donate their two-year-old computers instead of disposing of them. Owner/Operator of Total Electronics, Colin McMillan (not in photo) donated and installed new hard drives and Windows 7 software on each computer.
“This is awesome – it supports our programs and we will now learn to work with Windows,” said School District Vice Principal Patty Burt. Photo by Kathy Smith
