The Fort Nelson Fury Atoms teams travelled to Taylor this past weekend for a tournament. They competed against teams from Fort St. John, Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, Tumbler Ridge, and Hudson’s Hope, placing an impressive second and third in the tournament overall.
The Fury Elks won their first game against Dawson Creek with a score of 5-2. Their second game, against the combined Tumbler Ridge/Hudson’s Hope team, saw them wallop their competitors, with a score of 9-1. A score of 9-6 against Chetwynd in their third game secured them a spot in the finals, vying for first place.
The final game, against the Taylor Tornadoes, was a nail biter. The score was neck and neck throughout, ultimately ending in a final score of 4-3 for Taylor, resulting in a second place finish for the Fort Nelson Fury Elks. The kids played their hardest, and are looking forward to a rematch against the Tornadoes at the tournament in Fort Nelson in February.
