Over 200 people turned out for the tree lighting ceremony, the rest of the events were moved inside the Recreation Centre to avoid the -20C cold.
“Thanks to Rec Staff and Santa’s helpers, so that about ninety people could enjoy free hot dogs, drinks, and popcorn while they waited in line to get their picture taken with Santa,” Danielle Morine said.
Everyone enjoyed the live music provided by Sarah Nay and Ryan Bradley.
“There is also a new tradition in Fort Nelson this year, Santa’s helper dropped off a special mailbox so people can send their letters to Santa!”
It will be in the lobby of the Rec Centre until December 14th when the elves have to bring it back. People should remember their mailing address so Santa can write back!
