A Nostalgic Night of Fashion

JodiLee Purcka twirled on the end of the runway at NEAT’s first fashion show held at FNSS on Thursday November 15th.  A large variety of fashions for all ages were featured.  Neat Eco-Advisor Liz Biggar says, “The purpose of this show was to break the stigma about wearing clothes that have been worn before.”  She and several helpers asked for clothing a few months in advance, and Janelle Bruce began assembling the outfits.  Teens from the 2013 grad class, younger students, and volunteers from the community modeled the clothing.  Northern Drycleaning Services cleaned two wedding gowns in preparation for the show.  Donna MacDonald MC’d the show, and parents contributed by selling baked goods. Proceeds will help to fund this year’s graduation ceremony.  NEAT hopes to run another show next year.

At the NEAT Fashion Show, models stood with the ladies who donated prom dresses for the ‘Guess the Dress’ contest put on by the FNSS grad class.  (L to R); Megan Burke with Sherry McGee,  Hannah Waughtal with Jessie Purcka, Desiree Brown with Val Pawlachuk, Andria Mayes with Kim Eglinski, Samm Tollifson with Colleen Nadorozny, Nora Kurzwelly with Shaylee DeCecco, Stacey Gustafson with Carol Seidel, Karlee Nadorozny with Lorelei Purcka, Justus Pacheco with Allyson Rozak, and Kayla Curtis with Donna MacDonald.
