Human remains found at suspicious fire – Tumbler Ridge

Tumbler Ridge RCMP responded to a complaint of a suspicious fire on November 3rd, 2012 in the Bull Moose Forest Service Road area. The responding general duty member located the remnants of a fire as well as what was believed to be human remains.

The BC Coroner’s Service, Forensic Identification Section and North District Major Crime Unit have all attended to the scene of this incident, which is still being secured by the RCMP. The remains have been confirmed to be human, however are yet to be identified.

The circumstances surrounding this discovery are being treated as suspicious at this time and the matter is still being actively investigated.
