My Promise To You I am feeling empty and lost inside But I will fill my heart with favourite you and me stories And I will smile; I don’t know what to say But I will sit quietly And remember the closeness that we shared That never had to have words, For that’s how it always was between us If life’s journey seemed to get rough I know you will be there to hold me up; If the climb is steep and long and I feel I can’t go on; I promise I will take your hand And we will walk each step of the way together If I start to doubt, You will bless me with courage and strength; And if I say “Who cares” I will hear you whisper “I do”. For that’s how it always was between us. For now I walk alone, and all I have are memories. But I know you are with me; For all the tears that fall; You will gently comfort me For I can feel you near me For that’s the way it has to be Till we meet again.
