Over 50 men and women gathered in the NRRRC Fitness Room on Saturday October 13th to celebrate International Fitness Day! This free event hosted by the Northern Rockies Regional Recreation Department and sponsored by Apache Canada was a two hour event with six different fitness styles including yoga, Zumba, step, Tabata, core, and kickboxing. Thanks to the volunteer fitness instructors (Darlene Osmond, Deidre Sittler, Donia Deinstadt, Monika Dancevic, Natasha Ellingson, and Sarah Top) local residents were able to try out all of these classes for FREE! There were also great take-home water bottles for everyone and a door prize valued at over $120 full of health, fitness and aquatic gear that went to young fitness enthusiast, Kenna Cripps. This is just one of the many ways to stay active in the community so take advantage of local fitness and yoga studios, gyms, outdoor recreation space and the NRRM sports, fitness and yoga programs. Stay active, stay healthy! Danielle Morine, Recreation Program Manager
